Kera Beach in October

October in Crete is a special time. The sunny days grow shorter, and the weather occasionally turns unsettled, gently reminding us that the rainy season is near. Nature seems to be holding its breath, waiting for the first clouds to bring the long-awaited rain. Yet the sea remains warm and tender, still carrying the memory of summer. And when the sun breaks through the clouds, it’s impossible to resist — you simply have to dive into the clear, inviting waters of the Cretan sea. Autumn here isn’t sad. It’s calm, mature, and generous — a season when the island finally rests after the rush of summer, preparing for winter while remaining just as beautiful and alive as ever.
